As a valued supporter of Aviva, we are delighted to invite your children aged between 12 and 15 years to be part of the official Australian Open Aviva Ballkid selection trial to be held in Melbourne on Sunday 31 May 2009.


What to expect at Aviva Ballkids Trial – Sunday 31 May 2009 at 1.00pm

The day will commence with an initial trial where the following basic skills will be observed:

  • general hand-eye coordination
  • general ability to catch, throw, roll and stop a ball
  • reaction time
  • general tennis knowledge (short multiple choice test)

The second part of the day involves an assessment of the following skills, including but not limited to:

  • agility and speed
  • ability to catch and pick up a tennis ball on the run
  • ability to roll the ball along the ground to a target with speed and accuracy
  • willingness to work hard to improve personal skill level
