Securinvest is operated as a private company with the Managing Director being Colin Thwaites. Six advisors (including one independently operating under the Securinvest Licence) are based at our head office in Wheelers Hill together with six administrative and support staff. Our four other authorised representatives work from their own locations in Boronia, Lilydale and Safety Beach.

Colin Thwaites - Certified Financial Planner
Colin is the founding director of Securinvest Financial Planners. He holds a Bachelor of Education and taught for six years before moving into financial planning. After obtaining his Diploma in Financial Planning Colin went on to qualify for the internationally recognised 'Certified Financial Planner' designation (CFP). Colin is also a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA).
Colin Day - Certified Financial Planner
Colin is also a Certified Financial Planner and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation having spent more than twenty years in the financial planning industry. Colin holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Insurance and has also qualified for the Diploma of Financial Planning. He is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and a member of the FPA.
Craig Thwaites - Authorised Representative
Craig holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) along with a bachelor of business in Marketing and Economics from Swinburne University. He has been employed at Securinvest since May 2001, holding a proper authority since May 2003. Craig provides a full financial planning service to clients, along with the formulation and implementation of the Securinvest investment portfolio’s and marketing strategies.

Jenny Crawford - Senior Paraplanner
Jenny has 12 years financial planning experience working for the CBA and the ANZ. Prior to becoming a financial planner she worked in various roles in the banking industry including management. She holds an advanced diploma in financial planning and is currently studying towards her CFP. She is employed with Securinvest as a Senior Paraplanner, hoping to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Malcolm Davidson - Authorised Representative (New Business)
Malcolm joined Securinvest in 1999, after successfully running his own Financial Planning business for fourteen years. Prior to joining the financial planning industry, he was an Accountant with a large Banking organization. He has spent over thirty-five years in the finance industry and is therefore well placed to provide expert support in the customer service and marketing areas. Malcolm believes customer service always comes first.
Aaron Day - Junior Paraplanner & Network Administrator
Aaron holds an Advanced Diploma of Computer Science (Software Engineering) along with a Bachelor of Science (Computing). He joined Securinvest in early 2007. Aaron provides invaluable support to our advisers and staff, implementing and maintaining our IT infrastructure. He is also currently studying the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).
Helen Dimopoulos - Administrative Support
Helen holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) along with an Associate Diploma in Office Administration. She joined Securinvest in late September 2001. She is the Securinvest office manager and is responsible for the efficient running of the back office and also works as Colin Thwaites personal assistant along with the management of the Self Managed Superannuation Funds.
Gillian Holt - Authorised Representative
Gillian has previously successfully run her own financial planning business which was purchased by Securinvest in early 2007. She now works part time ensuring a smooth transition of her business to Securinvest, whilst continuing to service all her existing clients.
John Langley - Authorised Representative (New Business)
John joined Securinvest in 2005, having had approximately 20 years experience operating his own financial planning business. He strives to provide complete service and to build strong ongoing relationships with his clients.
Kathryn McDougall - Administrative Assistant
Kathryn has been employed with Securinvest since 2003. Kathryn is an integral part of the office management team and is responsible for the smooth operation of the front desk, including general office duties along with working as a personal assistant to the proper authority holders.
Karen Paradowski - Administrative Assistant
Karen is employed at Securinvest in the role of administrative assistant to the office manager. She has been with Securinvest since March 2008. She has obtained Level III in Business (Office Administration).
Tania Rogerson - Reception
Tania is employed at Securinvest in the role of administrative assistant to the authorised representatives. She has been with Securinvest since June 2000 and has become a vital member of our administration team. Tania is responsible for the administration involved with servicing our existing client base.

John Tsiros - Certified Financial Planner
John is a Certified Financial Planner with over 9 years experience of providing financial advice to clients. John holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from RMIT University, a Diploma of Financial Planning and completed the CPA Program. John is a member of the FPA and CPA Australia. John was a director of Oak Financial Planners for 7 years prior to the business transferring to Securinvest in July 2007. John continues to operate and manage the Bulleen, Victoria office sharing the same premises with accounting firm Davis Accountants Pty Ltd.
Colin Davis - Authorised Representative
Colin is a Certified Financial Planner with over 25 years experience in financial planning. Colin is also a Fellow of CPA Australia and was a registered tax agent and partner in Davis Accountants. He began to specialise in financial planning in the mid 80s and ran his business under his own dealers licence Oak Financial Planners Pty Ltd for over 15 years. Colin transferred the business under Securinvest in July 2007 and continues to grow and manage business operations in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Colin also consults with accountancy firms on financial planning, including self managed super funds.
